Erasmus+ staff mobility in London: how hosting works
Erasmus+ staff mobility lets teachers, trainers and administrative staff spend a working period at a host organisation abroad, funded by their national agency. The host runs the programme; the sending institution applies for the grant and chooses who goes.
Breeze is a training provider institution in London and hosts these visits. This page sets out how the arrangement works, so you can judge whether it fits before you spend time on an application.
Who can take part
Staff mobility is open to people working at eligible institutions, not just teaching staff.
- Primary and secondary school teachers and leadership
- Adult education centre staff
- VET providers and their trainers
- Higher education institutions
- Administrative and support staff at any of the above
The applicant is the institution, not the individual. If your organisation holds an Erasmus+ accreditation or is applying under a short-term project, the staff you select travel under that grant.
What a hosting week looks like
Most groups come for five working days, Monday to Friday. A typical structure:
- Opening session. Framing the theme against the group’s own context, so the week is about their institution rather than a generic curriculum.
- Core sessions. Three to four days on the chosen theme, built around practice rather than lecture.
- Site visits or professional exchanges where the theme calls for them.
- Closing session. Consolidating what participants will take back, and what they will change.
- Certificate of attendance recording dates, content and hours completed.
The certificate is a record of participation. It is not an accredited qualification, and we do not present it as one.
Course themes
Current themes are creativity and AI, business and entrepreneurship, future skills, tourism and AI, and farming and AI. Content within each theme is adapted to the sector the visiting group works in, so a farming and AI week for an agricultural VET provider looks different from the same theme delivered to a general secondary school.

Planning timeline
Two to three months ahead is comfortable. The binding constraint is usually the Erasmus+ grant calendar and your own school year rather than host availability, so if your dates are fixed by a term structure, start the conversation earlier.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can come in one group? Programmes are built around the group rather than a fixed class size. Tell us the number and we design the sessions accordingly.
Do participants receive an accredited qualification? No. They receive a certificate of attendance confirming dates, content and hours. Erasmus+ staff mobility is professional development, not a route to a formal qualification.
Can the programme be delivered in a language other than English? Sessions are delivered in English. We also correspond and plan in Turkish with Turkish institutions.
What if our dates change after we have agreed them? Tell us as early as you can. Dates are set with each institution rather than fixed to a public calendar, so there is usually room to move.
Do you help with the grant application itself? Application writing sits with the sending institution and its national agency. What we can do is provide the host confirmation and programme detail the application needs.
We are not running an Erasmus+ project. Can we still come? Yes. Institutions arrange training with us outside Erasmus+ as well, and we work with organisations on project management, partner search and sustainability regardless of whether a mobility grant is involved.
